Welcome to Les Monts Hedgehog Rescue

At Les Monts Hedgehog rescue, we ā¤ļø hedgehogs. Whilst caring for poorly hedgehogs so that they can be rehabilitated and returned to the wild - we also raise awareness for our prickly friends who need us more than ever!

If you've an interest in hedgehogs, want to help support us or have a hog of your own, do explore our site (we've tried to be as informative as possible!) and follow us on our Facebook.

Info

Les Monts Rescue Centre provides a safe haven for injured, poorly and young hedgehogs that aren't able to survive in the wild. With a unique 'Hedgehog Hospital' we can care for many hogs with several different problems at a time, and we've always got new hedgehogs being brought in for treatment. Most of our hedgehogs are rehabilitated once diagnosed and treated for their ailments.  Medication may be necessary for many weeks in some cases.

Occasionally it is necessary to look after a hedgehog for it's lifetime if it's injuries mean it cannot be returned to the wild. Les Monts Rescue Centre offers this facility where a hedgehog garden not only provides a safe haven, but is used to prepare others prior to their return to the wild.

We work to protect our prickly neighbours from all of the changes of the modern world has pushed onto them, and whilst working on treating those unfortunately injured, we also work tirelessly to raise awareness and help prevent more hedgehogs from needing our help.

Everyone can help their local hedgehog community - to learn what you can do, head over to our hedgehog care guides, and check out our 'Spike's desk' updates for relevant seasonal information!

The Les Monts Team

Chris Edwards

Founder

I founded Les Monts after ā€˜fosteringā€™ two hedgehogs whilst teaching in Guernsey.

Chris Edwards

Hedgehogs have been a lifelong interest, as most animals. Initially I was trained by the GSPCA, equivalent of our RSPCA, then went onto complete a qualification at the Vale Animal Hospital. More latterly I worked alongside (voluntarily) the East Winch, Norfolk branch of the RSPCA for over 4 years & have now clocked up 16 years of running the rescue.

Patron

Welcome to Les Monts Hedgehog rescue of which I am proud to be the patron.

Rosie Goodwin

Chris Edwards who runs this rescue works tirelessly to care for injured and sick hedgehogs. The rescue is run entirely on donations and we are also always in need of volunteers to help Chris even if it is only for an hour or so a week, so any of those who have a love for these beautiful little creatures please get in touch with Chris who will be happy to greet you. Every penny counts so please dig deep in your pockets and give generously to this very worthwhile charity.
